Cosmetic Ingredients with GHS Hazard Classification
The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) is a UN framework for standardising hazard communication across jurisdictions. In the EU, GHS is implemented through Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), which includes Annex VI harmonized classifications that are legally binding across all member states. Outside the EU, GHS classifications come from the ECHA Classification and Labelling Inventory (self-classifications notified by REACH registrants), the ILO/WHO International Chemical Safety Cards, and ATP (Adaptation to Technical Progress) updates. Note: GHS classification applies to the pure substance — at typical cosmetic use concentrations, hazard thresholds may not be met in the finished product. This cluster lists cosmetic ingredients with documented GHS hazard classifications.
